I chose to rematch the documentary Blackfish, because I watched it before and I really enjoyed it. This documentary is all about killer whales that are captured, or born into captivity at Sea World. The documentary specifically focused on a whale named Tilikum, because he killed multiple trainers while he was in captivity. I chose to stop the film on the scene in the beginning when they were discussing the beginning of capturing orca whales for entertainment purposes. In the shot you can see the baby whales in the nets being captured, while their families are swimming in the water very close by crying because the babies are being taken away. This scene is very powerful because it shows you how horrible and cold hearted putting these whales into captivity is. It shows the viewer that these killer whales have a sense of family and closeness just like humans, so it really stirs up some sympathy in the viewer. After I watched this documentary, it completely changed my view on animal captivity and I made a vow to myself that I would never go to the zoo or Sea World again. This documentary was very moving and caused me to not want to support animal cruelty by placing them into captivity.
