The Heat

I chose to watch the short documentary titled the Heat. The film is about a woman named Heather Hardy. As a child, she had many aspirations for what she wanted to do in the future. She planned on working in the field of law enforcement but got pregnant which unfortunately lead to a complete change of lifestyle. Now that she was pregnant she did not want to get married. She wanted to be focused on one thing that makes her happy. She decided to get into boxing and has loved every bit of it. She is known as Heather "The Heat" Hardy, a boxer who is a single mother supporting her daughter. After reading Patricia's introduction she expressed the values and truths that are displayed in a documentary. One main component of this short film was the music. It used the music to engage the viewers in an emotional state to show how Heather started from the bottom and is slowly reaching the top. Even though she could not become involved in law enforcement she found hope in boxing. I think that the overall message of the film was to have hope. Hope is one of the most important things to possess as a person. Heather displayed her hope throughout the film with her hard work and dedication to boxing. "I'm gonna get this because somebody said I can't do it so I'm gonna do it"(Heather "The Heat" Hardy).
